What About Brexit?

On the 31st January 2020, following repeated delays amid a period of deadlock and turmoil in the British parliament, the UK finally left the EU. No sooner had negotiations begun on the post-Brexit relationship, the coronavirus pandemic effectively halted proceedings. Under the terms of the divorce agreement, a decision must be made on any prolongation by the end of this month, but the UK has ruled out an extension period to give more time for negotiation, despite the fact that the full effect of the global health and economic crisis in the coming months remains to be seen.
