About this talk

Decarbonising transport is a top priority for both the UK and Scottish governments. Scotland’s vision is for a sustainable, inclusive, safe, and accessible transport system helping deliver a healthier, fairer, and more prosperous Scotland for communities, businesses, and visitors. This webinar has three key pillars – transport strategy; preparing the economy for a low carbon future; and air quality. Half a dozen experts from government and industry will share their knowledge, experience, and key takeaways. The opening ‘scene setter’ presentation will provide a look at Scotland’s National Transport Strategy and the role of carbon in relation to both technology and behaviour change. Attention then turns to the UK’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund and the ‘Driving the Electric Revolution’ challenge; ‘Powering zero-emission mobility: How, What and When?’ and ‘Opportunities for Scotland in zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles’. And then ‘Air Quality’ and the steps being taken to move the dial on this essential subject will come under the webinar spotlight.
