When geography and the cloud collide: Deploy and debug multi-region applications

Business evolves over time and space. Your stack needs to evolve with it. In the globalised 21st century, this means your resources were on one continent, but now your customers are on another. You successfully deployed your store closer to your customers and all the monitors look green—but you’re losing them at checkout time. Now what? In this talk, Dan and Rick will use HashiCorp Terraform to configure and deploy a multi-region application, and demonstrate some of the ways that Datadog can provide insight into the deployment and application life-cycle. We’ll introduce Terraform Cloud and show how to manage AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and Security Groups. We’ll also show how to investigate, diagnose, and remediate a real-world problem in multi-region deployments using Datadog.
