Data-Centric Communications in Software-Defined Systems: An introduction to DDS

Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) require flexibility from the middleware and networking layers, while maintaining a reliable data flow. They need to be able to adjust dynamically to new platforms and enable new features to be introduced at a rapid pace, without overhauling the system architecture. This webinar will review the OMG® DDS-TSN standardization efforts to extend DDS with a configuration model and a set of guidelines in order to successfully deploy DDS applications over TSN. DDS turns 20! In 2024, we celebrate 20 years of DDS innovation. To commemorate this milestone, the DDS Foundation will be running a year-long celebration to highlight the 14 specifications in the DDS standard, along with selected real-world use cases.

Designing and Configuring a DDS-TSN System

The Object Management Group® (OMG®) has recently released the new DDS™ Extensions for Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) specification. This latest addition to the DDS family of specifications leverages the capabilities of the IEEE TSN collection of standards to provide system architects with an integrated solution to build data-centric highly reliable deterministic applications over standard Ethernet. How to Develop and Deploy Observable Next-gen DDS Systems

The AUTOSAR Consortium has recently adopted Data Distribution ServiceTM (DDS) as a connectivity standard for its next-generation Adaptive Platform. In combination with the ara::com API, DDS enables Adaptive applications to achieve reliable, scalable and secure communications leveraging a rich set of Quality of Service (QoS) policies, while adhering to the semantics of ara::com's service-oriented architecture.
