About this talk

How do you connect your increasingly-complex digital factory and ensure it stays ‘always on’ while optimizing performance and safety? As the number of connected devices increases, the factory floor is experiencing unplanned operational disruptions from bandwidth limitations, latency issues and unpredictable network outages when connecting to centralized systems. To accommodate these challenges, system architects need to shift from a cloud-driven big data approach to an edge computing architecture. Edge computing moves decision-making analysis locally, while keeping private data secure within a protected infrastructure. On February 24, join RTI and ITTIA for an overview, discussion and demonstration of how to optimize data in modern manufacturing using a data-centric approach. Attendees will gain insights into a software-driven approach that streamlines data continuity through an integrated, standard-based solution that leverages edge computing in modern industrial applications. Attendees will learn: - Design principles of a data-driven edge-based architecture - Advantages of choosing a data-centric approach for the new era of industrial automation - Data analysis options in IoT industrial edge sensor networks - How the DDS standard accommodates ‘always on’ data flow in edge environments
