About this talk

Oceans cover 70% of the Earth’s surface, yet 80% of the ocean remains unmapped, unobserved and unexplored, primarily since the maritime environment is so dangerous to humans. Maritime smart machines enable safe, informative ocean exploration, off-shore energy, undersea drilling and mining, sustainable aquaculture, maritime autonomy, and naval defense. Yet these systems are only effective when they can share data in real time from undersea to surface to shore. All of these applications face common communications challenges on how to collect and share the data so it can be used for timely, improved decision making for developers of these systems, “IOT” stands for the Internet of Ocean Things. Join this webinar to learn how a data-centric approach to system architecture can solve the challenge to help your maritime systems work as one. The webinar will discuss: - Emerging standards for autonomous maritime vessels - Case studies on: - Coordination of turbines in off-shore power generation - Remote control of unmanned subsea robots - Sea-based sensor networks for sustainable aquaculture How data-centric communications enables all of these applications
