The supply chain, which impacts the daily life of most of the world’s population, requires careful coordination across verticals—beginning with manufacturing, then transportation, and ending with restaurants and retailers. In 2021, nearly every link is compromised. The lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbated by a handful of factors have left factories unmanned, store shelves empty, food spoiled in transit and ships stuck just outside ports for months. Overcoming these challenges and preparing for future disruptions will require a new approach, one driven by data and technology.
