Society has lost its grip on what matters most: the ability to think. Though the root cause is by no means malicious, we have begun to reward speed over quality, distractedness over focus, and the negative effects suffered in both our personal and professional lives are potentially catastrophic. TELUS Chief Envisioner and author, Dan Pontefract, has led an investigation into our everyday thinking and the results are not good. Due to several alarming factors including busyness, time mismanagement and technology addictions, employees and leaders alike are struggling to cope.
What to do? Dan suggests the introduction of something he calls Open Thinking. We need a return to balance between three critical components of productive thought: dream, decide, do … and then repeat.
