AEM’s test and measurement solutions include the award winning TestPro Multifunction Cable Tester.  TestPro is a ruggedized and versatile solution designed for field use offering a unique test set that is purpose built to aid in deploying and troubleshooting the modern smart building network infrastructure. Live Demo of Infrastructure Test for Smart Buildings-Part 2 of two part series

In Part 1 of this two part series, I will be discussing the importance of assuring infrastructure readiness for those deploying or managing smart building technologies. For those who design and deploy the infrastructure systems that are the foundation for building intelligence, this session will provide insight into the depth of testing that should now be performed.  In this session I will discuss extended measurements defined in ANSI/TIA 1152-A that should be made as part of cable certification, as well as extended measurements of link speed, and different types of network-based power.  For those responsible for managing these environments, this session will also provide insight into simple and effective link troubleshooting capabilities that span both the wired and wireless network infrastructure.

Assuring Infrastructure Readiness for Smart Buildings-Part 1 of two part series

In this discussion, we'll discuss the different types of testing challenges IT departments face in the midst of modern network infrastructure with more and more IoT connected devices that require PoE, and assurance of category cabling including CAT6A and 10GigE.  We'll also do some hands-on live product demonstration to show how testing in these network environments can be done quickly and easily, with a cost effective test solution that spans both the wired and wireless network.  

IT departments often find a need to ensure the cabling infrastructure meets a certain test standard.  This is needed to ensure support for a given application, or simply to support moves/adds/changes.  Historically, this requires the purchase of two or even three different types of testers, that span wired, wireless, and certification capabilities, which becomes cost prohibitive.  

Introducing the Network Service Assistant (NSA), with Certi-Lite, a multifunction connectivity test solution that represents a new category in field test with Qualification+ grade testing function.  The NSA is offered at a fraction of the cost for what you would typically need to spend in multiple testers to get this much test function.  And, because the NSA is modular, adding more test function as needs change, and AEM continues to add capabilities, is as easy as hot swapping a test adapter.
