About this talk

Digital transformation is driving and defining today’s pharmaceutical industry. It provides a disruptive and transformative roadmap across multiple disciplines and market sub-sectors. However, reaching the lofty goals promised by transformation means aligning the industry with a new set of principles. The FDA, in concert with the industry, has begun work on establishing a digital transformation framework for pharma. The framework is consistent with extrapolating Industry 4.0 into manufacturing and operations. In this presentation, Eli Lilly’s Doug Kiehl will illustrate how his organization is leveraging the FDA framework and cross-collaborative industry partnerships to make strides toward achieving their transformation goals. This work has helped Doug’s team optimize production through digital manufacturing operations and augment the current workforce through automation. What will be covered: Doug will discuss methods to attain the goals of more expedient operations, product development, advanced manufacturing, supply chain, and lifecycle management. He will explore three key enablers for advanced manufacturing in pharma: 1. The FDA’s FRAME (Framework for Regulatory Advanced Manufacturing Evaluation) initiative, 2. Digital twins, and 3. Cross-collaborative partnerships. Who should attend: • Technologists and business executives in pharma R&D and manufacturing, interested in taking their operational efficiency to the next level. • Technologists and business executives interested in learning more about digital twins, real-world implementations, and how they realize value. • Anyone interested in pharma manufacturing, digital transformation, or digital twins.
