The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) is a globally recognised membership organisation for claims professionals. The Institute sets the professional and ethical standards for those who work in the handling of claims through its qualification framework and guide to professional conduct.

Intentions of the session

The attendees will have an understanding of a restoration led approach to HNW claims and how different services can be required for fulfilment. In addition, the session will look at categories of specialist content types and discuss opportunities to restore rather than replace.

The session will cover:

-Our approach to HNW claims and the range of services called upon
-The types of organisations we work with
-Why restoration would be chosen
-Specialist contents
-Considerations of High Net Worth & Heritage Claims
-An overview of content types, using ‘before and after’ examples
-Primary and Secondary damage impacts on a range of object types
-The costs of restoration
-Increasing opportunities for restoration rather than replacement

Harwell Restoration: Restoration in HNW claims

Edwin Coe partners, Roger Franklin and Nicola Maher will discuss the impact of the recent Commercial Court decisions in the Stonegate, Greggs and Various Eateries cases on Covid business interruption claims.

In particular they will consider:

Aggregation;
Causation;
Furlough;
Other construction issues, including “the triggers”; and
The implications of the decisions for other claims.
