  • Building Enterprise VDI with Leostream Recorded: Jul 19 2021 28 mins
    Karen Gondoly, CEO, Leostream
Leostream helps our customers build enterprise VDI and other hosted desktop solutions

    Enterprise Infrastructure
-Utilize hybrid hosting environment - Host resources in the best environment, based on the users’ needs and location

-Optimize resource usage - Manage capacity and maximize usage to lower costs

-Ensure data accessibility – Bring the users to the data, not the data to the users

    Corporate Initiatives
-Plan for high availability – Build redundant systems with a repeatable process in place for disaster recover and business continuity

-Scale for a global workforce – Consider scale at a point in time (such as logins) as well as in location (such as the number of users at various locations

-Build secure systems – Implement zero-trust architectures with MFA and access control built-in

    End-User Considerations
-Provide the required end-user experience – Select a display protocol that provides the required performance and peripheral support

-Support a remote work policy – Architect and implement with a remote-first mind set to ensure productivity for all users

-Allow BYOD – Leverage clientless access and cloud solutions to avoid managing users’ client devices

    Considerations for Hybrid Work Environments
    - Single login portal for access to all hosted resources
    - MFA for remote, but SFA for easy on-prem access
    - Offer the appropriate resources based on where the user is logging in from
    - Client-less connections to support any user device
    - Architect for a dispersed workforce
    - Always know where users connect from

  • Launching PCoIP Connections from the Leostream Web Client Recorded: Jun 4 2021 11 mins
    Karen Gondoly, CEO, Leostream
In the new release of the Leostream connection broker, we have added the ability to launch PCoIP soft client connections from the Leostream web client. This enables you to include a SAML based identity provider and have that redirect to Leostream to launch the client. This way the user password is never exposed to the connection broker. In addition, by using the Leostream client, you can launch multiple protocol connections from the same login to Leostream.

  • Leostream Solves Complex Remote Access Problems Recorded: Jun 4 2021 18 mins
    Karen Gondoly, CEO, Leostream
Leosteam is able to manage access to Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.

Another thing we help with is providing access to graphics-intense applications. The hardware needed to run those applications is expensive, so instead of buying the hardware themselves, companies set up pools of shared hardware and then use Leostream to manage access using one of the many high-performance display protocols we support.

Customers leverage our Leostream Gateway to provide access to network isolated resources, whether that’s a private network or public cloud instances tucked in a virtual private cloud.

Other vendors have gateway products, too, but I guarantee you that none of theirs have as many options for how to connect users to their desktops.

Leostream supports in-browser connections, as well as RDP, NoMachine, HP Remote Boost, and our latest integration NICE DCV, which is a great protocol if you want to run in AWS as it’s built into their compute licensing fees.

Another trend we’re seeing is the move to the public cloud. Because of Leostream’s native support for on-prem and public cloud environments, it’s easy for our customers to migrate between platforms without changing the end-user experience. And, we all know, that end user experience can make or break a deployment.

But, really, what all of these points boil down to is the last one. Leostream's main mission is to enable emerging technologies. Right now, that’s the cloud and Leostream supports that in spades. Who knows what that technology will be next, but I guarantee Leostream will support it when it arrives.
