Healthy Northeast Ohio, a neutral data repository for regional population health data, launched publicly in December 2019. Regional partners interested in community health may utilize the Healthy Northeast Ohio platform at healthyNEO.org to access more than 250 health indicators, evidence-based practices, and information about community health improvement strategies. This innovative platform brings non-biased data and local resources to a single, user-friendly location.

Moral Injury and Shared Trauma: Healing our Systems and Ourselves

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unparalleled challenges for healthcare in the United States. In Northeast Ohio, with many still working tirelessly to coordinate care for patients struggling with Opioid Used Disorder (OUD), all while navigating disruptions and lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. These unique challenges created precarious scenarios for providers and patients, who have had to adopt new strategies to deal with the uncertainty of the pandemic.

The Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium, a hospital system-based and physician-led collaboration housed at The Center for Health Affairs, is giving attention to this issue by hosting this virtual town hall with experts in various ends of the continuum of care model. These thought leaders will discuss the path forward, how the pandemic has reshaped care and provide tips and resources for members of the community who are struggling with OUD or have people close to them who are struggling with the disease.

An Epidemic Within the Pandemic: Evolution of the Crisis

The Center for Health Affairs (The Center) is proud to announce the 'Collaboration to Innovation' grant. This grant, in partnership with IPC Global, provides the opportunity for one research project to employ the innovative inProcess Research platform to empower healthcare research. Collaboration to Innovation Grant: Cloud Computing Empowers Healthcare Research

Finding and securing federal resources can be a daunting task for your organization. Thankfully, it doesn't have to be. Join us as Innovative Funding Partners' (IFP) Brian Kelley, Louise Mathias, and Carrie Davis provide an overview of the federal funding landscape. Did you know Cleveland is a leader in holistic medical-legal partnerships? The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland helped create the first medical-legal partnership in Ohio with The MetroHealth System nearly two decades ago, and today there are embedded Legal Aid attorneys and paralegals who work collaboratively on-site at various MetroHealth, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and University Hospitals locations. Legal Aid attorneys and medical providers collaborate together to solve legal issues that are barriers to health. Medical-legal partnerships integrate the unique expertise of lawyers into health care settings to help clinicians, case managers, and social workers address structural problems at the root of so many health inequities.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, cybercriminals have stepped up their game in order to exploit vulnerable individuals and organizations. Issues such as HIPAA non-compliance, identified as a seven-figure risk in 2021, remain at the front of healthcare cybersecurity professionals’ minds.
