This week on The New P&L we speak to Sean Swarner - internationally-respected explorer and adventurer, philanthropist, author, and keynote speaker. Sean is a two-time terminal-cancer survivor who climbed all seven of the highest summits on each continent, and has skied to both North and South Poles, making him the first cancer survivor to complete the Explorers Grand Slam – and all with only one functioning lung as he lost function of the other lung as a teenager as a result of his cancer treatments.
Sean's adventures and passions have captured the attention of millions, and in 2017 a team followed Sean to the North Pole and made a documentary about him and his triumphs. The documentary, True North, was released on Amazon Prime. In 2018, Sean was voted one of the top 8 most inspirational people in history and was the recipient of the Don't Ever Give Up Award presented by the Jimmy V Foundation and ESPN. We discuss with Sean:
- his inspirational journey from teenage terminal cancer survivor to global explorer
- the core principles that underpin his life and his success
- the importance of mastering the moment not your mind
- setting positive daily habits
- what defines great leadership
- how to overcome limiting self beliefs and doubts
