About this talk

Congenital diseases Rodrigo Salgado, Antwerp/BE Description: A dilated right ventricle can have many causes. During this lecture, we will focus on the different congenital causes and their clinical impact. Different non-invasive imaging modalities will be compared, highlighting the relevant findings for the radiologist. Also, when applicable, key points to mention regarding a possible intervention will be discussed. Learning Objectives - To learn about the different congenital causes of a dilated right ventricle, their imaging findings and clinical implications Acquired diseases Tilman Emrich, South Carolina/US Description: Right ventricular (RV) dilatation can be caused by several diseases. Non-invasive cardiac imaging including CT and MRI is routinely used to diagnose RV diseases. Hence, it is important for the cardiovascular radiologist to be familiar with the magnitude of disease affecting the right ventricle and its impact on therapeutic decision-making. Learning Objectives - To summarize the basic principles of acquired diseases affecting the right ventricle - To understand the role of non-invasive imaging for diagnostic and prognostic purposes - To discuss potential future developments for the improved detection of RV diseases
