Presented by

Host: Francine Parham | Expert Speaker: Karen Jaw-Madson

About this talk

Did you ever feel like the company culture was happening to you? We experience culture in our workplaces every day--in our sense of belonging, how decisions are made, how people behave, in our interactions, and in all aspects of how we work. Perhaps you are new to the company or your team and you want to understand the dynamics at play. Or you’ve been around long enough to know what’s great and what needs improvement, but you don’t know how to go about it. Maybe you--as a woman or woman of color-- wish the culture could be more diverse, equitable, and inclusive, more innovative, have a better reputation, and so on. And yet, culture seems inaccessible to most of us. Until now. This workshop will empower you to be the positive change. You’ll learn how to: – understand culture, and therefore better navigate it in a way that – avoids pitfalls and gives you more of an advantage – initiate change regardless of your role or level – find and build your own support systems and community at work. Participants will receive actionable ideas, tips, tools, and—most importantly—a sense of possibility that empowers you to take control and do something positive. Expert Speaker: Karen Jaw-Madson is principal of Co.-Design of Work Experience, author of "Culture Your Culture: Innovating Experiences @ Work", founder of Future of Work platform A New HR, executive coach, and instructor at Stanford University’s Continuing Studies Program.
