It’s a fact, having a mentor won’t get you to the next level in your career or promoted as a woman or woman of color in the workplace, but a sponsor will. A sponsor can help you – if you’re prepared. So the question is, are you ready to be sponsored? Do you really know what it takes or how to get there? Do you know what to look for in a sponsor – all are not created equal. Are you visible enough to those leaders that can sponsor and help you get promoted in your organization? Does your organization even know that you are seeking sponsorship?
