Inventory and Project-Based Greenhouse Gas Reporting in Agriculture: Navigating Best Practices

Presented by

Grant Ivison-Lane, Director of Enterprise Sustainability, CIBO Technologies

About this talk

As agricultural enterprises continue to make Scope 3 reduction commitments, the process of accounting for the greenhouse gas (GHG) benefits of regenerative ag practices remains complex to implement. Much of this discussion has focused on how to best leverage Project GHG accounting (often used for carbon credit generation) or Inventory accounting (used to estimate the carbon footprint of products, companies, or counties) in service of these commitments. CIBO’s Director of Enterprise Sustainability, Grant Ivison-Lane, will lead a conversation to review current best practices for approaching these GHG accounting frameworks. This will include a brief overview of project and inventory accounting, and how when used in concert, they can be complementary solutions to understanding the full GHG impact of regenerative agriculture.
