Speaker biographies: Barry Kent Before joining the private sector, Barry Kent spent 35 years as an operational fire fighter/officer, including 16 years in London Fire Brigade (LFB). He spent the last 12 years of his fire service career as a forensic Fire and Explosion Investigator in the (LFB) Fire Investigation Team. Barry has carried out in excess of 1,600 fire investigations covering a vast range of incidents, including being part of the initial Fire Investigation Team on the morning of the Grenfell Tower fire, fires involving the marine, rail and aviation industries. Barry has investigated many fatal fires, including murder scenes and suicides, working alongside many different agencies and forensic specialists, such as the Police, AAIB and HSE. He has given expert witness testimony in Coroners Court and Crown Court. Barry holds a wide range of qualifications in both fire and investigative practices.
