‘Sounding out the challenges’: HNW and Musical Instruments

In the insurance industry there is a growing appetite among insurers to tackle claims fraud more comprehensively. At the same time, fraudsters are ramping up their strategies and targeting markets all over the world, posing huge risks to insurers operating globally.

According to the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud (CAIF), insurers make around $308 billion in fraud claims payments annually in the US alone, making the country one of the biggest markets for fraudsters. But other fraud hotspots are emerging worldwide, and the organized crime groups don’t care about borders. They act globally and AI tools have made fraud easier and more accessible than ever, necessitating collective action from the industry. 

At this webinar, Steve Crystal, will give us an update on the trends and development within Fraud and give answer to the following:
• Are we seeing an increasing trend in fraud, or have we just become better at detecting fraud?
• Are there any correlation between economic cycles and fraud – i.e. is fraud more likely when the economic situation is worsening?
• What examples are there on “Red flag”-indicators. Both generic indicators across product lines but also specific indicators on products?
• Are there any specific type of fraud that is more common that others?
• How can insurers fence their portfolios against fraud and avoid negative selection from “doubtful clients”?
• What are the political/legislative trends towards insurance fraud?
SPEAKER
Steve Crystal has led Sedgwick’s claims fraud proposition internationally since 2021, overseeing strategy and the delivery of investigation services via a global network. His experience comprises 28 years with Sedgwick. Prior to his international remit he was head of financial crime in the UK. During this five-year tenure he was responsible for Sedgwick winning seven national awards for its counter-fraud services.

Fraudsters without borders – Fraud from a Nordic and Global perspective

During this webinar we will examine the ever-changing profile of high net worth customers and consider the importance that data and analytics plays in swiftly validating genuine claims.  We’ll study several emerging fraud risks and consider how unconscious bias, if not kept in check, can hinder fraud identification.  Finally, we’ll discuss the importance of strong relationships, trust and lateral thinking in achieving the right balance between service and fraud risk identification.
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:
1) Understand how the changing demographic of a HNW customer brings about new fraud risks.
2) Describe how a zero friction, discrete claim validation may be achieved through a blend of holistic insight and lateral thinking.
3) Detail how unconscious bias can adversely impact fraud identification and interfere with achieving the right outcome for the insurer and their customers.
4) Understand why rapport, empathy and a strong relationship with the customer are key to delivering great customer service and fraud identification.
5) Describe how discrete counter fraud expertise deployed at the right time doesn’t conflict with a great customer experience.

Du er herved invitert til vårt webinar om siste nytt innenfor avhendingsloven og status etter dom i Borgarting lagmannsrett om gyldige/ugyldige tilstandsrapporter.

Managing parter og advokat i advokatfirmaet SGB, Andreas Langeland, prosederte saken om gyldige/ugyldige tilstandsrapporter for både tingretten og lagmannsretten. Han vil fortelle om saken og også gi oss en oppdatering på anke til Høyesterett. 

I tillegg vil vi se på siste nytt innenfor avhendingsloven etter endret lov, med fokus på caser i egen portefølje, rettspraksis og trender 2,5 år etter lovendringen. 

Kristian Ellstrøm og Elisabeth Bjørkhaug, som leder boligkjøperavdelingen til Sedgwick og har lang erfaring på området, vil dele sin kunnskap med oss. Begge er advokater og vil bidra med verdifulle perspektiver.

Proaktiv hjælp og støtte til sygemeldte medarbejdere der har været udsat for en arbejdsskade, er et større punkt i den ny arbejdsskadereform, som er lige på trapperne. En ny bekendtgørelse er nu i høring, med en mere dybdegående specifikation af, hvad man må og ikke må i forhold til proaktiv hjælp. 

- Men hvad indebærer proaktiv hjælp? 
- Hvad giver lovgivningen mulighed for? 
- Og hvordan kan det gøres i praksis?
 
Det er nogle af de punkter, vi gerne vil drøfte på dette webinar.
