Coal and oil markets hamper raw material supply for aluminium carbon products

Presented by

Julia Du, Justin Hughes, Gregory Wittbecker

About this talk

Recent escalations in the Australian-China trade war have restricted metcoal exports to China, tightening the coal tar balance and spiking prices. A slow recovery in liquid product demand, namely jet fuel, has limited oil refinery throughput and kept coker unit operating at low UT, inflating green petcoke prices.
