Increasing Compute and Storage Density with OCP Designs

Presented by

Erik Riedel, SVP Sesame Engineering of ITRenew

About this talk

Join us for an overview of design adaptations made in collaboration with our customers and partners to increase the deployed density of OCP compute, storage, and GPU solutions. By using advanced cooling solutions, high-density and high-performance NVMe storage devices, and high-performance GPU modules, we can increase the delivered density of dual-socket OCP servers by several factors and achieve: - ninety-six (96) dual-socket servers per rack (from 2,000 to nearly 4,000 CPU cores per rack) - over 1.4 PB (petabytes) of >1m IOPS per node NVMe flash storage converged nodes per rack - over 5.8 PB (petabytes) of >10m IOPs per node dense flash storage per rack - over sixty-four (64) GPUs arranged in high-performance multi-GPU clusters per rack All interconnected with 25G and 100G networking for high cluster-level throughput that can handle the most demanding customer workloads. Clusters are certified with various container and virtual machine software stacks, as well as AI computing frameworks.
