SAP has laid the groundwork for software that can manage the key business processes of an organization. However, SAP has its challenges when it comes to driving enterprise integration and security, according to Hasso Plattner's (SAP's Supervisory Board Chief) statement in a recent interview with Handelsblatt.

He said "We bought some companies just because they had a nicer user interface. But that's not enough." Integration isn't working yet at SAP, he adds. "That's a fact, sad to say."

Also, SAP has recently faced a lot of trouble as it was unable to offer the same security standards on all components. On this Plattner said, "That too showed the fundamental mistake: we have to have the same level of security in all the components."
