Chapter Chat: Marketing & Outreach

Presented by

Patrick J. Sullivan, Membership Chair, (ISC)² Middle Georgia Chapter

About this talk

It is a challenge for a volunteer chapter organization to maintain and grow their membership, let alone provide their communities with a source for cybersecurity expertise. Officers and members have a lot going on so why add more to their agendas? How do we address these challenges, enhance our membership engagement, and show our community that (ISC)² chapters can help? By planning and executing a robust marketing and outreach plan, it will help chapters fulfill objectives in their chapter’s charter while providing both members and the community with mutual benefits. In this talk, Patrick J. Sullivan, Membership Chair from the (ISC)² Middle Georgia Chapter, will discuss some challenges facing chapters today, why marketing and outreach should be a stated goal and practiced activity for chapters, some ways to get started, and some activities to consider.
