About this talk

How do Kubernetes requests and limits factor in when you are observing what’s happening in your Kubernetes cluster? What are the different scaling approaches? What can you actually scale? We are going to review all these concepts and learn some best practices you can apply in your environment. We’ll also discuss how much easier life is when an observability tool reminds you how many workloads you can allocate and what’s consuming your resources. In the second half of this webinar, we’ll take a look at how to instrument your workloads and analyze the signals in a third-party system. We’ll show some code and take a look at a live polyglot microservice application for illustration. Observing resources and applications in Kubernetes is hard… But it doesn’t have to be! OpenTelemetry is a standard under CNCF governance, and it can greatly reduce the burden of observing applications and services provisioned in Kubernetes clusters.
