About this talk

Why do remote teams open the door to a major source of growth for companies? This topic is critical because, post-Covid, we have an opportunity to evolve the way we work. Productivity is boosted by remote teams. In fact, three additional weeks are worked per year by remote employees, so there are efficiencies to be found in 2020’s shift to home offices, both for employees and for companies. Employees enjoy a lack of commute, financial savings, and more time with loved ones. Companies benefit from less dependence on real estate — we may only need 34% of the office space we had before — and holding meetings virtually as standard levels the playing field, such that collaborating with regional teams can be more transparent and effective. Remote work is also an invitation to expand globally because it opens opportunities in operational, revenue, branding, diversification, and brings talent-related benefits of going global and exploring new markets. Moreover, bringing global talent to many countries, including the U.S. and UK is becoming increasingly difficult, and companies that limit themselves to recruiting within commutable distance of HQ might miss out on the best hires. Companies that succeed in 2021 will be looking for talent further afield to take advantage of efficiencies brought about by remote-first business. During this session, we will discuss: • The world’s top expansion destinations based on surveys of C-Suite executives. • How to take advantage of emerging opportunities for international teams by getting the best, most diverse talent on your side. • Benefits afforded by remote work and virtual collaboration across a global workforce. • Remote working insights for business continuity, employee safety, health and well-being • Financial and compliance considerations that let employees keep their jobs and work remotely from their new jurisdictions • The importance of re-boarding employees in regard to retention and engagement
