Poshmark is a leading social marketplace for new and secondhand styles for women, men, kids, pets, homes, and more. We use Apache Druid for several use cases to monitor business, analyze the trends, perform A/B tests analysis, and share insights across organizations. Druid allowed us to democratize data across the company for both tech and non-technical team members. In this talk, we will talk about our homegrown solution – Yaga, before Druid was adopted and the challenges with Yaga. We will also deep dive into our Druid/Grafana deployment architecture and how we created standardized reporting, which pushed us to develop meta-queries plug-in for Grafana and open-sourcing it. We will also walk through the performance/cost optimization techniques we have developed and the initial struggles of developing a reliable self-serving analytics platform.
