As one of the biggest data-driven companies in Japan, Rakuten ingests and processes huge amounts of event data for multiple business units and needs to present this data in a timely, responsive manner to accelerate insights. The Rakuten Analytics Platform team tackles this challenge and uses Druid as a central technology in serving this data to its customers. This presentation aims to describe how Druid was selected to solve those challenges, the considerations taken, and how they leverage Druid beyond their original use case.
