In terms of Growth and Value, the biggest determinant between these styles is price-to-book value. We believe price-to-book value is no longer as relevant as it was decades ago. As the economy has evolved, companies are investing much more in intangible assets. At Alger, we employ a team of analysts to incorporate assets, like intangibles, that may not be included on financial statements, making what we believe are better investment decisions as a result.

Many smaller, nimble businesses are using internet-related technologies and other digital innovations to disrupt their respective industries and sometimes displace legacy companies.
