About this talk

The rise of cloud computing has increased the complexity of the enterprise attack surface. Modern development pipelines deliver continuously, while the move to “infrastructure as code,” as well as microservices, makes it all too easy to misconfigure workloads and cloud services as configurations change, identities and their privileges evolve, and data stores become increasingly intricate. As a result, if data security is not considered from the beginning while building and running workloads in public clouds, you may end up leaving holes that result in cloud data breaches, sometimes debilitating enough for the overall business. Without a way to constantly and automatically classify the data in your data warehouse and to analyze the access privileges, you might end up accidentally exposing your business critical data or inadvertently providing access to a combination of data that is considered problematic under GDPR to a non-EU person. This process of identifying and securing cloud data is called Data Security Posture Management (DSPM). In this talk, we will share all these new data security challenges and discuss new approaches to build an effective DSPM solution to secure data for everything you run in the cloud.
