Where next for the bond markets?

Presented by

Ralph Sinclair, Jon Hay and Bill Thornhill, GlobalCapital

About this talk

The capital markets made a rampant start to the year with bond issuance in particular breaking records in all sorts of different asset classes, but the Silicon Valley Bank and Credit Suisse crisis has shown how fragile investor sentiment can be. In this webinar, we examine why the uncertainty of what lies in store for the rest of the year is both making bond issuance difficult and spurring issuers to come to market, for fear that conditions could deteriorate. We will explore the relative merits of green bonds and sustainability-linked debt, and ask what bond issuers can achieve in the months to come as investors digest a side dish of bank failure in the middle of a banquet of inflation and rising rates. We look at which groups of issuers cannot seem to price bonds fast enough, and which will struggle and why. Presenters: Ralph Sinclair – Frequent Issuers Managing Editor, GlobalCapital Jon Hay – Corporate Finance and Sustainability Editor, GlobalCapital Bill Thornhill – Covered Bonds Editor, GlobalCapital
