We want to make the software-defined vehicle (SDV) a reality. Therefore, we combine our strongly use-case driven co-innovation approach with technical enablers such as SDV, Digital Twin and AIoT. On our way to support digital value creation for OEMs we follow a "digital first" approach: we  utilize the emerging software-defined vehicle infrastructure to prototype, simulate and test new ideas and therefore bring a truly digital experience to mobility users.

Automotive is becoming software-driven, but hardware and mechanics still set the boundaries. OEMs must operate in a multi-speed delivery model, where innovation cycles for cloud software, vehicle software, hardware, and homologation all move at different velocities. Loose coupling — a defining principle in the ./pulse framework — is the key to making these speeds work together rather than against each other.
In this digital.auto SDV Unplugged session, Gregor Hohpe, Axway, HPE and Bosch will unpack how loose coupling translates into hardware abstraction layers, safety-aware service architectures, and vehicle APIs that enable modularity without compromising safety or compliance. We’ll also explore a forward-looking perspective: as Agentic AI becomes capable of assisting with architecture decisions, impact analysis, design refactoring, and dependency mapping, the value of well-structured, loosely coupled systems compounds. AI thrives in environments where boundaries are explicit and change is local — meaning that solid architectural fundamentals are a prerequisite for effective Agentic AI in automotive.
The result: faster feature delivery, safer integration, and an engineering organization ready for both SDV and the AI-augmented future.

SDV Unplugged | Loose Coupling: The SDV Superpower for the Agentic AI Era

Following the success of our first SDVxAI Unplugged session, we return with an encore that moves from big-picture vision to hands-on reality. John Stenlake (Director, Vehicle Innovation & Mobility at Microsoft) will open with a short impulse to set the stage and paint the broader picture of SDVxAI.
