The Data Centre Evolution

Presented by

Ian Lloyd, Enterprise Technology Specialist, Intel

About this talk

The demands being placed on data centre management continue to evolve and increase – it’s no longer possible to just deliver the workload capability required by the business units; it’s now got to be done with lower budgets and lower power consumption, at the same time the expectations of the data centre’s capability and responsiveness continue to increase. Much of Intel’s focus at this time is how to deliver more compute power to the date centre (and hence increase its capacity and responsiveness) whilst at the same time lowering the power budget (and opex costs) required to operate the data centre. During this session Intel will discuss some of the trends they sees happening within the data centre and how they see the data centre infrastructure evolving over the next years to meet the demands being placed on it by its customers. Ian is an Intel Enterprise Technology Specialist. He joined Intel in 2000 and has worked in various technical roles in IT and Server Marketing. He is currently responsible for driving technology adoption within the UK Financial services and Healthcare business segments.
