An Introduction to DevOps at Rackspace

Presented by

Eric Brinkman - Product Manager of the DevOps Automation Service

About this talk

Abstract: DevOps isn't a tool or a product. It's an operational approach that changes how organizations think about developing and deploying applications. The ultimate goal? Creating better customer experiences. By uniting development and operations teams to automate and standardize such efforts as infrastructure deployment, you get faster innovation, accelerated time to market, improved deployment quality, better operational efficiency, and more time to focus on your core business goals. Join us in a webinar where you’ll be introduced to the Rackspace approach to DevOps where we automate entire application environments by treating infrastructure as code. Through configuration management tools such as Chef and Windows PowerShell® Desired State Configuration (DSC), we automate the deployment and scaling of complex application environments. Presenter Bio: Eric Brinkman is the Product Manager of the DevOps Automation Service, responsible for growth, new features, and technology integration of the service level. Eric holds a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently working on a MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to joining Rackspace in July of 2013, Eric worked for AMD leading microprocessor product development teams.
