Containers and Cloud-Native: Security in a DevOps Environment

Presented by

Rick Moy (Acalvio), Dan Hubbard (Lacework), Wei Dang (StackRox), Bashyam Anant (Cavirin)

About this talk

Containers and cloud-native development impacts security significantly. The mission hasn’t changed – we still need to harden the environment, reduce the attack surface, and find and stop bad guys. But the tactics must change – the old tools don’t work with this new infrastructure, and most importantly the processes have to change to fit the new DevOps world. Beyond meeting the technical requirements needed to secure the environment, security solutions for cloud-native development must tightly integrate with the ecosystem and workflows of DevOps. Examples of meeting these DevOps needs are tight integration with Kubernetes, leveraging the context available across the declarative info of containers, and tapping into the feedback loop integral to DevOps to enable continuous improvement in security. During this live panel, experts from Acalvio, Lacework, StackRox and Cavirin will discuss the technical and people aspects of building successful security for containerized apps and cloud-native development.
