Cloud and Virtualization with ITIL: Automating Order to Delivery

Presented by

Dietmar Werner, Principal Consultant, CA Technologies

About this talk

Some of the main reasons organizations look at cloud services are flexibility and agility. Get a service provisioned – exactly at the time you need it; give it back when it is no longer required; pay only for what you have used, and if your requirements changes - someone in the cloud is already waiting to serve you immediately. But, this ideal world can only work if you can easily find a service that meets your requirements, if it doesn‘t take 3 weeks and a tree’s worth of paper to get the approval, and another 3 weeks before the service is finally provided. ITIL may be a bit theoretical in some areas but it also speaks about very practical things like Request Management. With ITIL good practice in place and the right tooling for automation you can make automating ‘order to delivery’ a reality.
