Devices continue to get smarter and smarter. Imagine a virtual universe—an interactive, simulated environment accessed by multiple users through an online interface. We can’t overlook the importance of various digital security aspects such as user authentication and cybersecurity in this environment. Conventionally, usernames and passwords are used; more recently, biometric verification has been used to authenticate users. However, considering the increasing number of entry points for cyber-attackers and data confidentiality at risk, we know that existing authentication systems are insufficient.
