COVID-19のパンデミックの結果、移動の在り方は大きく変化しました。モビリティサービスの需要も変化しています。職場への公共交通機関を利用した移動は、依然としてパンデミック前と比較し15％下回っています。一方で、買い物や公園、スーパーマーケットなどへの外出は10％以上増加しています。 自家用車の使用やシェアモビリティの特定のモードも増加しています。現在、いくつかの都市では、特に自家用車に追加の道路税が課されています。たとえば、英国では、特にガソリン車に対して、車両消費税を引き上げています（税額は、車両から排出される排気量によって異なります）。これにより、シェアモビリティ市場の成長が促進されると期待しています。
