Prioritizing Your Investment Portfolio to Realize Your Strategy

Corporations spend billions of dollars a year on management consulting, much of it aimed at developing a great strategy. The most senior executives and key personnel apply countless approaches and methodologies to strategic planning but studies show only a fraction of these formulated strategies are ever executed. Even if a company is successful in identifying the correct set of actions that will lead to enterprise success, many fail because they don’t understand the critical link between strategy and stellar project and portfolio management.

Sound portfolio management enables organizations to identify, define, and prioritize the investments required to realize enterprise strategy – and it doesn’t stop there. Portfolio management involves more than initiating projects and programs. Portfolio management enables the continual oversight required to ensure those investments stay in lock-step with enterprise strategy and the mechanisms to make the adjustments necessary to ensure strategic success.

This webcast provides a thought-provoking overview of the connection between the two most critical governance mechanisms of every enterprise, strategic planning and portfolio management. Participants will walk away with a concrete understanding of the relationship between strategy and portfolio management and how together they enable an enterprise to achieve its business objectives.

This event is approved for 1 PDU (Professional Development Unit).

  • How Elite Organizations Collaborate with Hyper-Productive Meetings Jan 18 2018 6:00 pm UTC 60 mins
    Michael Ball-Marian
Businesses waste millions of dollars annually on employees participating in ineffective meetings. Yet, the waste continues to fly under the radar of executive leadership teams despite losses in operating expenses and productivity.

In this webinar we will present a framework for running highly productive, effective meetings that any organization can adopt. Specifically, we'll take a closer look at what are generally referred to as “issue clearing” meetings.

These meetings (usually recurring) typically involve 5 to 20 people who work on a shared goal, product or project. These meetings focus on solving problems, making decisions, and aligning individuals and teams. Examples might include: executive leadership, engineering leadership team, product council, project council, weekly team meeting, portfolio council, etc.

We will have short Q&A sessions and interactivity throughout the session.

  • Mind the Gap: Business Agility Recorded: Oct 26 2017 34 mins
Doug Barth, Gatepoint Research and Deema Dajani, CA Technologies
Why is there a such gap between what senior-level executives believe about business agility, and what their companies actually embrace? Join us for a webinar to find out why and learn how to help close the gap.

A recent CA-sponsored study on Business Agility throughout the Enterprise revealed that only 12 percent of organizations can claim their whole organization is on the path to business agility --- though more than two-thirds of survey participants agreed that agile organizations are better able to quickly respond to dynamic business conditions.

The survey also finds that improved Business Agility is expected to deliver:
    •Better competitive advantage
    •Higher customer satisfaction and retention
    •Increased employee productivity and retention
    •Reduced costs
•Faster time to act on new opportunities

Yet only 1 in 10 executives said they are leveraging the benefits of agile across their whole organization to achieve speed and responsiveness.

In this webinar, Doug Barth, founder of Gatepoint Research, will walk us through survey to share the following. Where has agility taken hold across organizations and what results can be expected? What departments are on the horizon to adopt agility and why? What are the biggest deterrents to adoption?

To help demystify some of the findings and provide guidance over potential hurdles on the path to business agility, he’ll be joined by Deema Dajani, a Senior Transformation Consultant from CA Technologies. Deema thrives on taking Fortune 500 companies through successful, large-scale agile transformations, and is on the business agility front lines every day working to close the gap.
