Ann Rossi Bilodeau, PhD, Corning Life Sciences

About this talk

Cell culture surface is a critical determinant of cell morphology, phenotype, and function. Each cell type has unique requirements for cell attachment and signaling that may require more than traditional Tissue Culture-treated polystyrene. Extracellular matrix (ECM) coatings can enhance the binding and growth of specialized and fastidious cell types in low and non-serum media environments, more closely mimicking cells’ native environments for in vitro cell culture. In this webinar you will learn: • A brief history of the evolution of cell culture surfaces • The difference between surface modifications and coatings • Key differences between natural, mimetic, and synthetic ECM coatings • Applications for specific ECM coatings
