Data Centers - At the Eye of the Storm

Presented by

Peter Bennett, Principal Consultant, Oracle

About this talk

Recent tragic events in Japan highlight some difficult but vital decisions that must be made regarding energy, its supply and the criticality of using it efficiently. This has knock-on implications for the location of components of critical infrastructure, including data centers. Peter Bennett looks at the future of data centers, the energy contexts within which they have to exist, as well as some of Oracle's own internal data center challenges and responses. Along the way he examines some preconceptions about what may constitute 'green' and 'efficiency'.
