About this talk

Devops and the Cloud transformed the way we build and run software. However, traditional devops tools and processes are not adapted to the rigours of the Edge. The main difference between Cloud and Edge environments is that engineers care about the physical location of the hardware. In other words: the Edge is literally anywhere and everywhere outside the data center and the public Cloud. In this presentation, you will deepen your understanding of the differences between Edge and traditional computing environments. You will also learn about the specific challenges of the Edge, and discover why established devops approaches and tools come up short when confronted with them. Finally, you will explore EdgeOps, a vision for edge computing proposed by the Edge Native Working Group at the Eclipse Foundation.
