About this talk

The exponential growth of data and cloud services is driving demand for new data centers and upgrades to existing centers. But this growth cannot be sustained without considering the need to develop efficient Data Centers: they have to consume less energy and water and increasingly need to rely on green energies. This presentation will investigate system engineering approaches which break the siloes between the different domains (building / cooling system / racks…). We highlight system level models that leverage simulation to find the best design compromise and reach sustainability targets. Bringing smart automation to this approach is key to efficiently optimize and test several rack layouts and configurations while monitoring KPIs. To further improve on sustainability and energy efficiency, 3D simulation solutions can complement 1D methods, delivering the needed detail and granularity in results to drive impactful changes.
