About this talk

For Investment Professionals Only In the second instalment of our impact investing series, we will look at two exciting areas where impactful investors and companies can make a difference: genomics and social inclusion. Genomics offers an opportunity to revolutionise healthcare and investment in genetic sequencing companies is a fantastic example of impact investing. Sequencing is supporting research and development efforts, transforming the diagnostics of disease, and has the potential to be a core component of breakthrough therapies. Meanwhile, though there have been encouraging improvements in social inclusion in recent years, a lot more still needs to be done. Representation of women, ethnic minorities and other groups remains low at the highest levels of industry, and we also continue to see widening wealth and income gaps amongst underrepresented groups, which have been further amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic and the current cost of living crisis. Join us in the second instalment of our impact investing series as we discuss: - The role of genetics in rare diseases and cancer - Impact investment company examples within genomics and social inclusion - Potential uses of genomics - The challenges and complexities of social exclusion - What can be done to achieve greater social inclusion? - Examples of impactful companies addressing social inclusion - And much more!

The value of investments will fluctuate, which will cause fund prices to fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the original amount invested.
