Investors have long looked to China and the US as the sources of global growth, but we believe recent events have seen this paradigm shift. Heightened geopolitical tensions have driven a splintering of global spheres of influence. Going forward, global trade and economic growth may be less dependent on the fortunes of these two nations, and more dependent on cross-border investment between countries.
