About this talk

The employment tax status of workers can be difficult to establish. Where non compliance with the tax legislation arises, it is the NHS organisation, not the worker, that is exposed to additional PAYE and National Insurance Contributions ("NIC") as well as statutory interest and penalties. With increased HMRC activity in this area and the financial as well as the reputational risk non compliance brings, this session will look to share some of the areas PwC is seeing in practice as concern to HM Revenue & Customs ("HMRC"). This will include individuals engaged as self-employed, as office holders, through Personal Service Companies and agencies. The session will also look at the interaction with the additional HM Treasury annual requirements for reporting off payroll payments.
