About this talk

The charity Mind describes resilience as follows: There may be times or situations in our lives that are more difficult than others. The capacity to stay mentally well during those times is what we call ‘resilience’. Resilience is not simply a person’s ability to ‘bounce back’, but their capacity to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances, whilst maintaining a stable mental wellbeing. While everyone is struggling with the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, there is a pressure currently on the NHS including the NHS finance community. Staff are having to navigate unchartered territory including working from home, possible home schooling and or/ isolation worries, procuring the equipment for frontline staff as well as keeping track of the cost of this crisis. All of this on top of the ‘business as usual’ demands including financial planning and the imminent end of this financial year.
