Demo: Monitor Microservices in Docker, Cloud Foundry and AWS Cloud with CA APM

Microservices, Cloud Foundry and Dockerized applications are adding a new layer of complexity to an already complex application environment. When application issues arise, it becomes difficult to pinpoint the source and, too often, you find yourself in lengthy war rooms or assigning experts to triage every issue. As a result, brand loyalty, customer satisfaction and innovation are negatively impacted. The old approach to application performance management just isn’t working. A new approach is needed. In this session you will learn how to monitor these new modern applications to ensure the customer experience. We’ll also demo CA APM in action monitoring a Dockerized application.

  • What's New in DX Application Performance Management - EMEA Recorded: Jun 27 2019 59 mins
Amy Feldman, Head of APM Product Marketing and Dominik Pinter, APM Product Management
With this increased reliance on applications, it’s more important than ever that IT organizations monitor and manage the end-user application experience across physical, virtual, web, mobile, wearables, cloud, containers, mainframe, user journey, behavior, and funnel. However, the ability to predict, identify, diagnose, and fix application issues is difficult, especially in today’s modern app environments that are complex, noisy, and dynamically changing. For organizations seeking to improve customer experience, reduce application issues, and gain insights into user behavior, using analytics and machine learning becomes a critical capability for any APM solution. As a result, modern APM solutions have evolved to include AIOps platforms that correlate and analyze data across users, applications, infrastructure, and network services apply machine learning, advanced analytics, and automation to deliver a new level of visibility with automated actionable intelligence. Attend this session to learn more about the exciting innovations delivered in DX APM 11.

  • Employing Microservices: 5 Ways to Tame Container Chaos Recorded: Oct 9 2018 54 mins
Amy Feldman, Director of APM Product Marketing at CA Technologies
Microservices, as the name implies, break up applications into many small pieces. Teaming microservices with DevOps is considered the new path to rapidly bring business value to software applications, and Docker is the primary containerization technology that can make microservices a reality.

Speed has a price, however. Breaking up applications introduces new types of issues that traditional architectures do not need to deal with.

Join this web seminar to learn about five ways to tame the container chaos.

    You will learn:
How analytics can be used to guide design decisions and identify practices that correlate to the higher levels of performance
Where, when, and how to enrich performance monitoring with detailed instrumentation and the value of additional metrics in cloud environments
How to extend support with synthetics to monitor the APIs that are key to driving communication between microservices
How increases in components, dependencies, and communication flows necessitate the need for automatic mapping and maintaining telemetry data
How to apply established configuration management techniques to containers using automation to preserve velocity
  • Using Containers to Improve Performance in Constantly Changing Applications Recorded: Oct 9 2018 62 mins
Chris Kline, VP DevOps Strategy for CA Technologies and Amy Feldman, Director of CA APM Product Marketing at CA Technologies
Containers are engineered to support the need for continuous application changes. As self-contained artifacts, they accelerate the benefits of immutability, scalability, and portability. But there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and the ephemeral nature of containerized apps challenges teams to understand how a “now you see it, now you don’t” system impacts overall application performance.

New techniques are required to manage containerized changes in the context of the highly dynamic state in which they operate.

    You will learn:

How small changes in code, apps, and architecture can remain undetected in containers but cumulatively build to cause severe problems
The application of multidimensional analysis to track container changes across time in order to pinpoint the impact on performance
Methods to increase the supportability and resilience of containerized applications within and across the continuous delivery pipeline
  • Realize The Full Value of Your Cisco ACI and SD-WAN Investments Recorded: Sep 12 2018 48 mins
Jessica Lyons Hardcastle, Senior Editor SDX Central
During this SDxCentral.com webinar, you’ll learn how CA delivers a single and scalable operations experience with easy OOTB dashboards for NOC personnel to correlate network health with faults and events for modern technologies like Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, vCPE to traditional SNMP performance, flow and traffic analysis and TCP/Application transport analysis… in one unified platform.
Deliver Flawless AI-Driven Experiences & Enhance App Performance
In today’s economy where every business is in the software business, downtime is costly and slow is the new down. Proactively managing and improving the experience of modern applications, cloud or traditional infrastructures and networks is a necessity but it’s not easy.

To help manage the increasing volume, velocity and variety of data - APM solutions have evolved to include AIOps to correlate and analyze data across users, applications, infrastructure, and network services and to apply machine learning and advanced analytics to deliver a new level of visibility and actionable insights.
