About this talk

Two Lawyers and a Data Scientist Walk into a Bar . . . That's the start of the joke our guest Herb Roitblat wants to tell in the next edition of TAR Talk. Herb thinks lawyers are working too hard at e-discovery and making it too complex. TAR can help with this problem, but not unless we better understand the limits of certain basic sampling concepts such as confidence levels and margins of error. In this episode we talk about why the statistical choices we make do not necessarily bring better results. If we are lucky, we might also coax Herb into telling us how game theory could be used to improve the discovery process. And, in case you didn’t realize it, Tom and I will be the lawyers for this joke, Herb is the data scientist. You can be the bartenders at our next edition of TAR Talk. Don’t miss it.  TG
