In this in-depth 90 minute briefing, Keith Milne (a highly experienced Principal Examiner and a Head of History with over 20 years teaching experience) will help you prepare for the new AS exams. He’ll provide an overview of teaching strategies for the analysis of interpretations, and primary and contemporary extracts at AS level. He’ll also discuss what skills your students will need to succeed at writing essays, including the expectations.

Government reform means that from September 2017, we won’t be able to offer GCSE Performing Arts (and neither will the other exam boards).
However, we’re looking into the possibility of developing a Technical Award in Performing Arts.
Still aimed at 14 - 16 Year olds, it will provide a stimulating alternative to the current GCSE and form part of a suite of new Technical (more vocationally focussed) qualifications. They will count towards school performance tables and students can study up to three of them alongside their GCSEs.
This session will give an update on the progress of the development of the Performing Arts Technical Award, and give you the opportunity to ask questions and help shape the design of the qualification.
